A space is not just a space. When it comes to the design, it has to be both functional and beautiful. The laundry space and mudroom at the English Country Home are no exception. Beyond the utilitarian function lies convenience, luxury and charm.

The Laundry Room

This laundry room mixes modern luxury with classic elements for a timeless look. Classic colors, designer finishes and open-shelving provide organized storage for all of your household needs. The wall paint in Simply White by Sherwin Williams, is accented in the shade Accessible Beige on the cabinetry and baseboards to create a seamless look. The beautiful extra-honed Carrara countertops, contrasted by the unlacquered brass taps and hardware by deVol, create an air of elegance and warmth. Two different limestones were used to create the classic checkerboard flooring, adding natural warmth and charm to this laundry room space.

When it came to accessorizing the open shelves, we incorporated The Neat Method to add elegant organizational solutions for every day items. We also added a few Steele Canvas Trucks or laundry baskets – making sorting, storing, and transporting laundry items both stylish and convenient. We also accessorized the room with Market by Modern Nest pieces, such as our coveted Croix Pot, Rize Hand Towel in a striped blue linen, and The Homestead framed art piece.

The Mudroom

The Mudroom is the catch-all space situated off of the main garage at The English Country Home. With its bold color and elegant details, this room has a striking presence in this home’s design. The sophisticated color Oval Room Blue by Farrow + Ball has enough contrast to catch your eye from afar but still work well on the custom cabinetry, bead board wall finish, and door. We love how this neutral blue carries seamlessly through the space with no interruptions, making the room feel open and airy. When it came to the floors, reclaimed limestone was chosen for it’s elegance and durability. Set in a classic brick pattern lay, this natural stone creates so much warmth, making it the perfect foundation in this space.

Speaking of character, the window with the cafe curtain adds a romantic touch to this mudroom. With its patterned linen finish and unlacquered brass hardware, it infuses a rustic charm reminiscent of an old European cafe. A blend of old and new decor pieces accent this space. We love the Roland Wall Hooks and how they display functional pieces such as the Beechwood and Metal Dust Pan, and Linen Apron.
