It’s been a little while since we’ve introduce

It’s been a little while since we’ve introduced ourselves here so we thought we’d take a minute to say hello!
.
We are Brendan and Jillian Bader, owners of Modern Nest and @marketbymodernnest. We are the husband and wife team behind our home design and build firm located here in Scottsdale, AZ. Brendan is the lead on all things build and construction and Jillian leads the design side of the business.
.
We build custom spec homes here in the Valley as well as client new builds and remodels.
.
In addition, we opened our brick and mortar home decor retail store @marketbymodernnest here in Old Town Scottsdale in December of 2020.
.
Brendan started the business back in 2008 flipping bank owned properties and after a loss in their family, Jillian joined Brendan full-time helping him on the design of some of their larger scale homes.
.
Fast forward 13 years, we now have an incredible team of 20+ employees who are dedicated to helping us build beautifully designed homes for families to live and be.
.

Coffee table styling is one of Jillian’s favorit

Coffee table styling is one of Jillian’s favorites. Here are a few of her best tips:
1] You’ll always use more than you think. Pull together lots of pieces so you have options and variety.
2] Stack. Layer. Repeat.
3] Always include a vase with greenery.
4] Utilize coffee table books to cover more space, create height, and of course, for interest.
5] Mix up the textures. Include metals, woods, woven materials, glass, ceramic, etc.
6] Have fun with it! If you get frustrated, leave it alone and come back with a fresh eye.

This kitchen from our #mncaminov spec home has gotten TONS of attention the last couple of years. This photo has been shared, tagged, saved, pinned and DM’d thousands of times and we are not mad about it one bit, because we love that you love it too!

In all honesty, photos do get used without proper credit being given and when it happens, it’s a total bummer. There are so many individuals that help make a photo like this happen. From architects to builders to designers to sub contractors to tradespeople to stylists to marketers to photographers, to realtors, etc., it’s a collective effort of really talented people doing really amazing work.

WE ARE HIRING

Our design + build team is quickly growing and we are looking to bring on another full-time Designer.
.
This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position working from our office in Old Town Scottsdale.
.
Requirements include:
- 3+ years professional design experience
- Degree in interior design
- Proficient in Photoshop, SketchUp and AutoCAD
- Have a passion for design and a strong design eye
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to seamlessly collaborate with different members of the team
- Responsible for supporting the process of material sourcing & specification, visual research, furniture sourcing, moodboard creation, graphic and visual presentations
- Ability to produce spec sheets and elevations
- Proficient presentation skills and extreme attention to detail
- Strong communication and grammar skills
